Functional Testing

lab_picture

Functional testing refers to a range of diagnostic tests designed to evaluate how well various systems in the body are functioning.

Unlike traditional diagnostic tests that focus on identifying diseases or structural abnormalities, functional testing aims to assess physiological performance and detect imbalances or dysfunctions that could be contributing to health issues.

This allows me to detect underlying causes and provide a much more personalised approach for your journey to optimal health and wellbeing.

Tests could be done using samples of the blood, stools or saliva.

If you require a blood draw I provide a phlebotomy service (taking blood for samples) at our clinic in Northampton, provide a home service within a certain area  or can advise you how to arrange yourself if you are further afield.

I use several labs for functional tests, each of which have slightly different specialities. This means I can offer the most appropriate tests for your needs. Some of the most common tests include:

  • Gut Health Tests

  • Gut Microbiome Tests (with the option of personalised probiotics)

  • Food Intolerance and Allergy Testing

  • Thyroid Screening Tests

  • General Health Screening Tests (vitamin D, iron, B12, cholesterol)

  • Fatty Acid Balance Tests

  • Autoimmune evaluations

  • Stool testing for GI health, microbiome analysis and pathogen exclusion

  • CIRS panels and transcriptomics testing

  • Functional bloods with pattern analysis to identify helpful patterns in your body's chemistry

  • Sex hormone comprehensive analysis to identify how a person is detoxifying and processing their hormones
